A Resounding Success on the River Stour!

What a day! The Christchurch River Pageant took place today, and organisers from both Christchurch Rotary and Boscombe & Southbourne Rotary Clubs are absolutely thrilled to report that it was an incredible success.

Flooding the banks of the River Stour with excitement, crowds of spectators gathered along both the Christchurch and Southbourne sides, as well as soaking up the vibrant atmosphere at Tuckton Tea Gardens. We were especially delighted to be joined by Bournemouth East MP Tom Hayes, Christchurch Mayor Councillor Maggie Fidler, and Bournemouth Mayor Councillor Roberto Rocca, who came down to support the festivities and share in the community’s joy on such a sun-drenched day.

A Feast for the Senses on Land and Water

The river itself was a breathtaking sight, alive with numerous vessels taking part in the spectacular procession. Participants truly went all out, dressing their boats for the occasion and donning brilliant fancy dress—featuring everything from pirates and mermaids to a happy waving shark!

On land, the event was brought brilliantly to life with fantastic entertainment. A huge thank you to the Dragon Of The South dance group for their wonderful performances, and to Perfect Storm for filling the air with lively sea shanties.

Fantastic Teamwork:

Working Together with Boscombe & Southbourne Rotary

This partnership is a shining example of great teamwork in action, bringing our local communities together and combining our strengths to deliver such a memorable day for everyone involved. Collaborating hand-in-hand makes achievements like this possible, and we look forward to many more successful ventures together!

Thank you to every single person who came down, took part, and supported today’s landmark event. Together, we have created a truly unforgettable community celebration!
