When and where does the event start?

The event takes place on 16th September. We begin with a Champagne Reception at Christchurch Sailing Club at 6pm. Here, you will be checked in and given your itinerary for the night.

How do I know which restaurants I am visiting?

To keep the “safari” spirit alive, your specific dining route is revealed at the Champagne Reception. You will visit three of our four participating restaurants for your starter, main, and dessert.

Is this event suitable for me?

This event is designed for those who enjoy a social, adventurous dining experience and are comfortable walking short distances (5–10 minutes) between town centre venues. Because we are coordinating a large number of diners across multiple kitchens simultaneously, the menus are carefully fixed in advance. If you enjoy discovering new venues and a vibrant, “moving” atmosphere, this is the event for you!

How do I manage dietary requirements and allergies?

Our pre-event menu selection form will provide clear information regarding common allergens for every dish. However, because our partner restaurants are catering for a very large number of guests using a specifically managed set menu, diners with complex or multiple dietary intolerances should think carefully before booking. While we aim to be inclusive, the nature of a multi-venue progressive dinner means we cannot guarantee the same level of bespoke menu tailoring as a standard reservation. Responsibility for managing dietary decisions rests with the guest when making their pre-event food choices.

What is the dress code?

There is no specific dress code for Dinner About Town! The evening is all about having fun, socialising, and enjoying some of Christchurch Town Centre’s best restaurants. Whether you prefer “smart-casual” or want to dress up for the champagne reception, the choice is yours—just ensure you have comfortable shoes for the stroll between courses.

Will I be eating with the same people all night?

If you book as a group, we ensure you stay together for every course. However, because different groups follow different “trails,” you’ll meet different guests at each venue, making it a wonderful social experience.

What happens if I miss the menu choice deadline?

It is vital that all food choices are submitted by 15th August. This date is set to allow our four partner restaurants enough time to source fresh, local ingredients and prep their kitchens specifically for the “Dinner About Town” guest list.

If we haven’t received your choices by this date, we will send you a final reminder; however, if we still do not hear from you, we will have to assign a “default” menu option (typically the vegetarian selection) to your booking. This ensures the kitchens can function smoothly and that your meal is ready the moment you and your fellow diners are seated.

We are incredibly grateful for your participation; by simply enjoying a wonderful meal, you are making a tangible difference in our community. Every penny of profit from your ticket goes directly toward supporting the vital work of our headline partner, Parkinson’s UK (Christchurch Branch), as well as the numerous local charities and “good causes” championed by Christchurch Rotary.
