Who Are We ?

Christchurch Rotary has existed since the 1950s. It is one of 45,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide with a network of 1.2 million members, working for local, national and international communities.

Christchurch Rotary has around 35 members currently. We are always seeking to expand that number as the more people we have as members, the more we can support the local community. Our members are currently aged between 35 and 85 and are from all walks of life and backgrounds. Anyone over the age of 18 is invited to apply to join us.

While we work hard to put on events for the community such as the Christchurch Living Advent Calendar, The Wishing Well Walk and the Christchurch River Pageant, we also meet socially and have plenty of opportunity to get together and have fun.

Doing good in your community, whether it’s by donating money, getting involved in service projects or volunteering your time can be personally rewarding.

Public Speaking Skills:

Members can develop their confidence and public communication skills and get the chance to use them. Our alliance with Toastmaster’s International gives members access to courses and local public speaking clubs.

Family Opportunities:

Getting involved in Rotary can bring a whole family into a community’s support network. People form life-long relationships and friendships that can strengthen a family for years.

Ethical Principles:

One of Rotary’s core principles is to maintain high ethical standards. People who get involved with Rotary know that those they associate with are expected to act ethically in their business and personal relationships.

Community Connections:

Being a member connects people with community leaders, helps them understand the needs of their area, and gives them ways to be better neighbours.

Global Access:

Our global presence offers members opportunities to build relationships with others, both nearby and around the world, which helps them develop a more global perspective.
