We are a 40 strong group of professional men and women who each have equal status and value within the club. Every year we elect members to the most important positions. We would like to introduce you to the people in those positions for 2023-2024.

President – Peter Boardman

Immediate Past President – Vince Banks
Vince joined Rotary in 2017, having moved to Christchurch in 2017 from Henley on Thames to run a Bed & Breakfast. He had not been involved with Rotary at all previous to this and is now a committed Rotarian.
He has thoroughly enjoyed his time in Rotary, having met some wonderful people. The role of President this year has led to more involvement in the Town which he thoroughly enjoys

David is a retired Bank Regional Director. He joined Rotary at Ferndown in 1987 & is a past President of Taunton Vale and Christchurch Clubs.

Committees

Community Service – Brian Clarke
Brian joined Worcester Rotary club in 1989 and after committee service was elected president 1994-95. He then chaired various committees including International and Community. He finally chaired Worcester Rotary Club’s Sawyer Trust dedicated to helping women over 50 and in need.
Brian & his wife, Deb, moved to Christchurch in 2017 to be nearer family. Since then, he has chaired our Community Service committee, working closely with local Christchurch charities.
Brian enjoys Rotary and is grateful to his current club for providing a ready-made circle of social friends to one new to the area.

International – Howard Matthews
Howard first joined Rotary in 1973 as a member of the Stone club where he was International Chair. In1980, with his family, he moved to Ringwood and transferred his membership for three years until his professional commitments, as a community pharmacist, necessitated his resignation. After a move to Christchurch in 1999 he rejoined Rotary where he enjoyed a number of roles including the running of the District Shop, Chair of the International and SwimaFun Committees and club President. In 2011 Howard became a ShelterBox Volunteer/speaker, and is now the District 1110 Coordinator. He is currently a member of the District International Service Team

Vee joined Rotary in 2002 and was chair of the Community Service committee 2003 / 04 and 2004/ 05Before becoming junior vice president in 2006 senior vice president in 2007 & president in 2008/9 & Business Partners Co-ordinator 2011/18. She is currently chair of Membership & PR.

CLAC – Jan Banks
Jan joined Christchurch Rotary Club two years ago and is the instigator and Chair of the Christchurch Living Advent Calendar, an annual Christmas event in Christchurch.
Jan moved to Christchurch with her husband, Vince, seven years ago to run a B&B, a hobby in their retirement. Prior to that, she worked in Clinical Research & Development, managing global clinical trials and staff in over 30 countries.

Mary Dacome Homes of Rest – David Richardson
David joined Christchurch Rotary in 1983. He has been Presednt of the Club on two occasions. A Solicitor by Profession he is heavily involved in the community. Married to Susie with two daughters and four granddaughters. When not involved in charitable works David is an avid reader of Royal and Political Biographies and since his youth has been an aircraft anorak. He is a room steward at the National Trust property Kingston Lacy.
