Our second Wishing Well Walk was held on the 9th May 2025.
We are delighted to report the following:
- Macmillan Caring Locally reported that some 70 walkers took part, and the total sum raised so far was some £4300, although a few extra donations are still expected.
- 75% of the sum raised will go to Macmillan Caring Locally and 25% to Rotary charities.
- The Wishing Well Walk poster competitions at Highcliffe School and Priory School were very successful, and Highcliffe Rotary and Christchurch Rotary presented £50 gift vouchers to the winners respectively.
- A further £50 voucher for the most Wishing Well Walk sponsorship was won by Anita, and we are planning a presentation by Macmillan Caring Locally and the presidents of Highcliffe Rotary and Christchurch Rotary shortly.

A £50 Amazon voucher for the winner of the Walk quiz was presented to Lee of Colten Care, which he accepted on behalf of his daughter Margot aged 7. Margot answered all the questions correctly and was closest in the tie breaker question – “How much money was in the Rotary Wishing Well on Mudeford Quay on the afternoon of 9th July 2026?”
There was £8.71 and Margot guessed £10.
Well done Margot 👏
We will hold the event again next year, and the date will be 9 May 2026, subject to approval by BCP.
The sums raised will again be split 75% to Macmillan Caring Locally, and 25% to Rotary charities (that 25% to be split equally between Christchurch Rotary charities and Highcliffe Rotary charities)
With huge thanks to Fiona Boardman and the team for all their hard work leading to this excellent result, including plenty of photo opportunities and raising Rotary’s profile.
